February. So far, so good. I have written and mailed out Valentines. I have gone through old clothes and sold some. I have started looking for houses and jobs. I have revived my blog.
Yesterday was Sunday. I met up with Ariel and Mara, and as we were sitting there at an table outside Caffe Vita, Scout and Lacey (Jonathan's friends from Portland) walked by! It was a fun chance meeting that made me hope for more chances and meetings in the near future.
Saturday night around 11pm Melissa and Amanda came and picked me up, and we drove outside of Seattle on some windy roads, sitting silent as the radio played. We ended up at Beth's Cafe, a 24-hour dive with cheap breakfast. It was great.
The night before that, I was at the Polka-Dot House for a show. I loved the first guy who played- his name is Ross, the "band" is June Madrona. I ended up getting three Indie cd's from him. He, his friends, and his big box of homemade cd's peaked my curiousity about Olympia. I've been hearing a lot about it lately. You know how sometimes there's a week where it seems like every day someone says something on some random subject and you find yourself thinking it's no coincidence that you happen to be there every time it's mentioned? I'm going to take a trip down there really soon. Because, you know, Courtney Love went to school there.
And how about this Evergreen College that's down there. It sounds very cool. No real grading system, no grades. Just learning, creativity, freedom, and self evaluation. Sounds pretty good. There's so much I want to do!
